Hambleton, Myrna
Hambleton, Myrna I am a self taught artist with very little formal training. (I read a lot and have many "art how-to" books). In 1972 I took some evening classes in oils where I actually learned more from the other students than I did from the instructors. I worked in oils for many years but became frustrated at the length of drying time required. That's when I discovered acrylics. I was very happy with them and worked in that medium for many more years. Then I took a watercolor course with Alice Reed, and fell in love with them. Around 1997 when I was in a 'dry spell' I started working with graphite until about 2007. I once again had an urge for color. I dug out my watercolors and found that my love was not lost. I have also discovered the new fast drying oils and they have excited me to try some new things. I try to keep learning and doing new things, whiile improving on those that I am more familiar with.
