Morrison,Carol
Morrison,Carol Carol’s interest in the natural world around her, which led her to a career as a biologist, also steered her toward painting. Influenced by the vibrant colour and expressive brushwork of the Group of Seven, Carol uses similar techniques in her work. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, Carol has had many solo and group exhibitions provincially and nationally. Her work is in numerous private and public collections, including the N.S. Art Bank and the IWK and Queen Elizabeth II Health Centres. The recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award for an emerging artist, and of a Creation Grant from the Province of Nova Scotia, Carol is currently painting portraits of victims of injustice for an Amnesty International project. Carol's work can also be viewed at the Art Sales and Rental Gallery at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, and at the Art&Jules Gallery, 2089 Gottingen St., Halifax.
