Just below is a photo of the medal he designed to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Baptismal of Grand Chief Membertou in 1610, which was presented to the Queen. Congratulations Gerald! In the bottom right is Janice Guinan with Stephen Harper and the painting she presented to the Prime Minister. Pictured with Janice is her husband Dave, mother Cynthia Burris, and son Tomas. Congratulations Janice! ___________________________________________________________________________________________ Congratulations to Janice Guinan on the selection of her painting, "Willena Jones" for purchase by the town of Truro on their 4th Annual Art Acquisition. Willena Jones was Truro's first female educator of African descent, a respected and much-loved community leader and matriarch. Mrs. Jones was also one of the six Leading Ladies honoured this year for African Heritage Month. She passed away on February 22 of this year at age 94. Her life was lived in selfless ambition and service to others enriching our community and enhancing our culture and heritage.
